About Us

Doorkeeper Security Ministry was born to inform Churches of the need of a Safety Ministry as the incidents of Churches being the target of aggressive and violent attacks continue to increase. Our mission is to provide assistance and consultation to organize, train, and encourage Churches in their development of a Safety Team Ministry.
Our approach is three pronged; (1) Prevention; (2) Preparation; and (3) Protection; with the greater emphasis on PREVENTION.

My Experience

My experience in public safety spans nearly 40 years. I served in the Kentucky State Police for twenty-five and one-half years; in every rank from Trooper to Colonel. After retirement, I have been provided the opportunity to serve as Police Chief for the City of Campbellsville, KY; as an Assessor for the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc.; and the Commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Transportation Safety. Most recently, I serve as Director of Safety & Security at Commonwealth Baptist College and Clays Mill Baptist Church.

Training

Our ministry is prepared to provide your Church or School with a Safety & Security Assessment to evaluate the facilities and physical plant for safety and security concerns and proposed remedies. Our assessments follow the guiding principles of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED); the Life Safety Code Manual; and the requirements prescribed by the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA).

In addition, our ministry is able to tailor training to fit your congregation and staff on subjects such as (1) Organizing a Safety Ministry; (2) Effective Communications (Verbal De-escalation); (3) Emergency Preparedness; (4) Occupational Safety; and (5) Aggressive Intruders.

Our Approach

Our approach involves consulting with you and your staff to learn the concerns and needs you wish to address (the Safety and Security Assessment). While we offer an all-encompassing approach to safety and security - our emphasis is foremost centered on Prevention.
We are available to visit your Church and provide the training on-site to your Safety Team.
